Buying new AV equipment can sometimes be the biggest capital expense that a business can incur.
Often when it’s purchased, it will only be a matter of time before a new version or product comes out.
Leases can be constructed to include things like additional warranties and service agreements to give the client complete piece of mind.
Leases are also often advised, as they tend to keep cashflow within the business, and you end up with a small monthly payment over a set term.
Because of the high cost of audio visual equipment, the smaller monthly payments are often preferred to a large lump sum capital outlay.
AV leases are usually 100% tax deductable and payments can be written off against a company tax bill. Payments are usually written off as direct operating expenses.
If you buy equipment up front, it becomes a depreciating asset, which is not ideal compared to the option of leasing. For more detailed examples feel free to contact us, however for any financial advice, you should check with your company accountant.
