Choosing Microsoft Teams Room hardware is mostly about matching the kit to the room. This guide replaces our older individual product reviews with one up-to-date overview of what works in each room size, and what to think about before you buy.
Start with the room, not the product
Three things decide which Teams Room kit is right:
- Size and seating: how far the furthest person sits from the camera and microphones.
- Acoustics: glass walls, hard floors and high ceilings all make audio harder.
- How the room is used: quick internal calls, client presentations, training, or board meetings.

Small rooms and huddle spaces (2–5 people)
An all-in-one video bar with a built-in camera, microphones and speakers is the right answer here. Pair it with a single display and a touch controller for one-touch join. Typical choices include the Logitech Rally Bar Huddle and Rally Bar Mini, Poly Studio X30/X32, Neat Bar and Yealink’s smaller MeetingBar and MVC kits. See huddle space AV.
Medium meeting rooms (6–10 people)
Step up to a larger video bar with a wider field of view, speaker tracking and optional extension microphones for the far end of the table. Options include the Logitech Rally Bar, Poly Studio X50/X52, Neat Bar Pro and Yealink’s mid-size MVC kits. Dual displays work well here so people and content can be shown side by side.
Large rooms and boardrooms (10–20+ people)
Larger rooms usually need a modular system: a separate camera (or two), table or ceiling microphone arrays, dedicated speakers and a DSP to manage echo and levels. Examples include Logitech Rally Plus, Poly Studio G9 Plus and the Poly Studio E70 camera, Neat Center with Neat Bar Pro, and Yealink’s large-room MVC kits. Custom and divisible rooms
Training rooms, divisible spaces and auditoriums often need Q-SYS or Crestron control and audio, multiple cameras and bespoke integration with Microsoft Teams. This is where an experienced AV integrator earns their keep.
Don’t forget the rest of the room
- Displays: commercial panels sized for the back row, single or dual.
- Room booking: door panels such as Logitech Tap Scheduler or Neat Pad show availability and release no-shows.

Teams Room kits: FAQs
Do I need Windows or Android Teams Rooms?
Both are certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms. Android devices (Teams Rooms on Android) are all-in-one and simpler to manage, which suits most small and medium rooms. Windows-based systems (Teams Rooms on Windows) have a compute unit in the room, offer the fullest feature set and flexibility, and are often preferred for larger or custom rooms.
What licence does a Teams Room need?
Each room needs a Microsoft Teams Rooms licence assigned to a resource account: either Teams Rooms Basic (core meeting features, for a limited number of rooms) or Teams Rooms Pro (advanced features plus remote management). We’ll recommend the right option and set it up.
Can one kit work in any room?
No. A video bar that’s perfect for a four-person huddle room won’t pick up voices clearly at the far end of a 16-seat boardroom. Room size, shape and acoustics decide the camera, microphones and speakers. That’s why we start with a site survey.
Which brand is best?
Logitech, Poly (HP), Neat and Yealink all make excellent certified Teams Rooms kit, and each has strengths in different rooms. We’re partners with Logitech, Poly and Neat and supply Yealink, so we recommend on fit rather than brand loyalty.
