Boardroom AV

“Usually the boardroom is where many big decisions are made, it makes sense to take advantage of the latest technology.”

Modern Board Room

The boardroom is often where big decisions are made, and the technology needs to support the high profile activity that goes on within the space.

Therefore, you usually find the very best technology will be installed within the boardroom, with impressive high-quality audio.

There is also a wide variety of display and camera technology available much of it depending on the size and layout of the room.

Usually the desired solution can be identified after a site survey.

Boardroom Display

The boardroom often needs to have an impressive and easy to view display. Usually there may be a single or multiple LFD (Large Format Display) and possibly even a video wall.

LFD’s can be arranged side by side or utlising the video wall format using a variety of formats and they are usually set as 4K displays. We partner with a number of brands, from Samsung, LG, NEC, Sony, Philips, Iiyama amongst others.

Choosing the correct display is important, and a proper commercial display or commercial TV will ensure the correct warranty and after sales service.

Projector Technology in the Boardroom

Projectors have always been a staple technology in the boardroom. Often for size vs price they still cannot be beaten, but it’s important to realise there are many different types of projector technology, and its important to specify the right technology for the right space.

Usually, in a boardroom environment it’s important to have a high resolution projector that has a high brightness level (often measured in ‘Lumens’)

LED Technology in the Boardroom

LED Videowalls deliver a super impressive experience in any boardroom owing to their superb ability to display clear information at an unsurpassed brightness level. Older technology meant poor clarity, but newer, closer pitch LED technology means that these displays are being utilized more and more in those flagship style board rooms.

Samsung for instance, have developed an LED Videowall, called ‘The Wall’ which delivers unsurpassed flexibility and quality. Seeing one of these videowalls in action will really blow you away. It’s a modular MicroLED super-sized display that will really impress.

Boardroom Automation & Control Systems

Most boardrooms are packed with technology, so it’s important that they can all interact and react with each other in an efficient way. In traditional boardrooms, you have lots of devices, along with lots of remotes and other control interfaces.

We have experience with all manner of control systems from Crestron, AMX, ATEN, Control4 etc so we can help you pull everything in the room together.

Depending on the experience required and the technology provided, we can set up automatic sequences to set up a room based on sensors detecting a new occupant.

For more complex systems, there might be a tablet or a control panel with multiple buttons controlling multiple functions and input devices. This could be power, sources, light control, blinds control etc.

Boardroom Audio & Sound

Boardroom audio is hugely important as they are often large spaces that have many occupants or meeting attendees. Often these large meetings are set up to reduce the outlay of travel or to encourage employees back to the office post-pandemic.

In a large room there are often several dynamics to get right, and selecting the right microphone technology is hugely important.

For the smaller boardroom, it’s possible to use smaller individual speakers and mics, or soundbars with beamforming microphone technology. Although, for the larger space, ceiling panel mics may be required. These impressive boardroom microphones use beamforming to adequately capture sound from every corner of the room.

The DSP (or Digital Signal Processor) will tweak the received audio so a loud booming voice will be received at the same level as a quiet voice at the far side of the room. These panels are often installed within a standard ceiling tile space. These mics such as the Shure MXA910/MXA920.

Boardroom Video & Camera Technology

The other important aspect to the meeting room is the camera setup itself. Like audio products, the types of camera that are used within boardrooms have also advanced quite heavily.

They are often a small form factor and deliver high HD or 4K resolutions. They also include technology such as object and person tracking which can be delivered via various methods.

Many have this technology built in, but they can also be paired with other technology to offer video tracking via voice microphone input.

In addition to this, many boardrooms also consist of more than a single camera, and they can be used not only for video conferencing but for technology such as live streaming. Often these spaces can be used to get broadcast quality video out to employees at short notice via social channels or via the web.

Variable Room Configurations

Many larger rooms are often split into smaller rooms using sliding partitions or room dividers. Often they have sensors that can detect which mode the room is in. That means a room can be set up as maybe three separate small Video Conference rooms, or they could be set up as a large town hall style meeting space.

With these style rooms, it’s important to choose the right technology as they are often more highly utilised than other rooms within a building.

Often the system can be set up and configured in a ‘smart’ way so the room layout will drive a preset based system that will allow devices to be controlled in a certain manner.

For instance, control panels, mics and speakers can be disabled or enabled depending on room partition status.

Town Hall Meetings

Town Hall meetings are often large meetings containing all employees of a business or several departments together. Often boardroom facilities are used to deliver these large-scale meetings often with 100’s of participants.

Having the right equipment in these spaces also means that management can often use the spaces to record or deliver messages that can be delivered out through digital signage or through social media/staff meetings etc.

The boardroom is often utilized for this purpose due to it having the highest specification in the corporate building,

With technologies like Microsoft Teams, and the right supplemental hardware, multiple attendees can join.
