“How much does a video wall cost?” is one of the first questions we’re asked. The honest answer is that it depends on the technology, size, resolution and installation. This guide gives UK price ranges so you can budget before you talk to an installer. All figures are indicative and exclude VAT.
LCD or LED: the first decision
LCD video walls are built from narrow-bezel commercial displays, typically 46–55 inches, tiled in grids such as 2×2 or 3×3. They’re bright, sharp and cost-effective for receptions, control rooms and retail, but you’ll see thin lines (bezels) where panels meet.
Direct-view LED (DV-LED) walls are made from LED cabinets that join seamlessly and can be built to almost any size or shape. They’re the choice for large, seamless or very bright displays, such as auditoriums, atriums, event spaces and shop windows.

Bezel width makes a big difference to the look. Ultra-narrow panels with joins under 2mm cost more than standard video wall displays, but the gaps are far less visible.

Pixel pitch is the biggest cost driver after size. It’s the distance between LEDs: the smaller the pitch, the sharper the image up close, and the higher the price. Industry pricing puts fine-pitch P1.8 cabinets at roughly 60–80% more per square metre than P2.5. As a rule of thumb, choose a finer pitch the closer people will stand to the wall.
What else affects the price?
- Installation: for wall-mounted indoor LED, installation commonly adds 15–30% of the hardware cost. Structural work, access equipment and out-of-hours working add more.
- Processing and control: video wall controllers, LED processors and media players.
- Content and management: digital signage software to schedule and update what’s on screen.
- Brightness: window-facing and high-ambient-light spaces need high-brightness panels.
- Support: an AV support contract protects a significant investment.
Buy, lease or hire?
For events, hiring an LED screen is common. Indoor LED hire is often quoted at around £140–£320 per square metre per day, and a 6m x 3m conference wall at around £3,500–£6,000 per day. If the wall will be in daily use, buying or leasing is almost always better value over time.

How much does a 2x2 video wall cost?
For a 2×2 wall of 55-inch narrow-bezel LCD panels, the hardware typically starts from around £5,000. Mounts, a video wall controller or media player, cabling and installation come on top. We give a fixed-price quote after a site survey.
Is LED or LCD cheaper?
For smaller walls, LCD is usually cheaper up front. LED costs more per square metre but has no bezels, scales to any size and suits large or very bright spaces. Above a certain size, LED often becomes the better value.
How much does it cost to hire an LED screen?
Indoor LED hire in the UK is commonly quoted at around £140–£320 per square metre per day, depending on pixel pitch, rigging and location. A typical 6m x 3m conference wall is often £3,500–£6,000 per day including processing, structure and crew. For permanent use, buying usually works out cheaper within a year or two.
